פַּחְלִין
פַּחְלִיןor פֶּחָלִין m. pl. (פחל, cmp. פַּחְדִּין a. Syr. פחלא testiculus, P. Sm. 308 1) ball, bale; פ׳ של גמלים a bale, made of a net of ropes with wide meshes, containing the freight of camels. Kel. XXIV, 9 פוחלץ (corr. acc.). Tosef. ib. B. Mets. VI, 6 הסל והפ׳ של ג׳ … שעשאןוכ׳ a basket or a bale … the meshes of which had originally been made narrow enough to hold pomegranates. Y.Shebu.III, 34d (Chald. diet.) אייתון פ׳ דגמלין ומלוןוכ׳ they brought bales and stuffed them with straw; Y.Ned.III, beg.37d bot. פחלץ (corr. acc).Yalk. Num. 762 פילחן (prob. to be read: פוחלין).
